Economic, social progress hinges on political stability: PM

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Saturday said political stability is indispensably vital for the economic and social progress of the country and the government is making in this connection. He said leaders of political parties are patriot and quite earnestly, they want the development of the country, adding the politicians have learnt their lessons from the past; hence, they will not tread the same path causing democracy to derail. "All politicians crave after peace and prosperity for Pakistan under the democratic system and they will shun the past mistakes," he stressed. Striking on the positive note and optimistic outlook, the PM Raja said the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) reflects the PPP-led government's resolve to keep the democratic traditions from falling. He furthermore noted he is raring to go for consultations with the political leadership for the national cause.
