Pakistan women handball team to take on India on 23rd

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan's women handball team will take on traditional rivals India on May 23 in the third South Asian Women's Handball Championship, which is scheduled to be held from May 23to 25 at Lucknow, India. As national outfits will leave Islamabad for India on May 22. An official of the Pakistan Handball Federation (PHF) said Tuesday here that Pakistan would take on traditional rivals India, Nepal and Bangladesh in the three-day international fixture of regional countries. "Pakistani girls are participating first time in the regional competitions of South Asian countries. Pakistan will meet Bangladesh in their second match on May 24 while they will been countering Nepal on May 25 in their last match of the championship," he added. "Abida Fayyaz will be head of the contingent while Saqlain Kusar will perform the duties of manager during the tour. Duo coaches Maqsood Waseem and Tahira Saleem will also accompany with the team while Tariq Nawaz and Dabeer Hussain will act as referees in the four-nation international handball championship," he concluded. Names of the players are as under: Zaibulnasa (goalkeeper), Farzana Amjad, Nazish, Mehreen Fatima, Romana Amjad, Beena Chaudhry, Naseem Akhtar, Khalida Ramzan, Munazza Nazir, Sadia Aslam, Madiha Lateef, Imrana, Nushrat Bano, Shomaila, Robina Kosar, Parveen Akhtar, Sadia Maqbool and Azra Kusar (goalkeeper).
