RAWALPINDI - Three accused of a 'kidnapping for ransom gang were apprehended while the dead body of an abducted person was also recovered from the Chakri Road, informed the police officials here on Wednesday. They further told that a special cell working on kidnapping for ransom cases under the supervision of SP Potohar Rana Shahid Pervez identified, traced and arrested a gang of three criminals of Rehamatullah kidnapping case registered with PS Saddar Bairooni. According to the details, Rehamatullah was a young boy aged 20. He was kidnapped on May 12, 2009 from the area of Chakri road in the limits of PS Saddar Bairooni. The gang had demanded ransom amount of Rs 1.5 million for the safe release of the abductee. The police succeeded in tracing one accused Qamar Bhatti and arrested him. In the meantime, two other co-accused Waseem Ashraf and Ali khan who keeping eye on the abducted person at another place brutally killed Rehamtullah after an information that one of their gang members had been arrested. The special cell arrested remaining two above mentioned criminals within next two hours and dead body of Rehmatullah was also recovered from Chappar village near Chakri road. All three criminals have been arrested and a criminal case file is being prepared for maximum punishment to them. Meanwhile, City Police Officer (CPO) Rao mohammad Iqbal Khan suspended two Sub Inspectors from Police Stations Airport and Civil Lines by taking quick action after receiving complaints against them in Open Kutchery. In this open court, a total 10 complainants appeared. City Police Officer by taking quick departmental action upon the complaint of one Abadul Hafeez resident of Satellite town suspended and transferred Sub Inspector Mohammad Bashir of Civil Lines police station. He also ordered police station civil lines to register a criminal case as per rules and facts provided in the application of the complainant. CPO also suspended Sub Inspector Mohammad Mumtaz from police station Airport due to a delayed and faulty investigation in the case of a complainant Miss (S H).
