Former Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president and Pakistan people’s party senior leader senator Aitzaz Ahsan on Wednesday said that President Asif Ali Zardari has the right to decide over the matter of seniority of judges under the constitution.
Talking to media persons here, he said that the chief justice of Pakistan has also acknowledged presidential discretion in this regard.
Aitzaz Ahsan said that tension over the issue of judges' appointment in Islamabad High Court is escalating.
In response to a question regarding the judicial commission inquiry, the former SCBA President said that all the inquiry of commission will be considered as null and void over seniority matter, adding that judicial commission should comprise people who are constitutionally nominated.
