RAWALPINDI - Addl IG and Regional Police Officer (RPO) Nasir Khan Durrani Sunday directed City Police Officer (CPO) Rao Iqbal and all the DPOs of the Region to ensure fool proof security measure during holy month of Moharam, likely to commence on 29 December. For detailed planning effective execution and quality supervision, Addl IG issued special operational (SOPs) procedures for Majalis and processions separately for all the districts of region and directed them to follow them in letter and spirit. RPO Nasir Khan Durrani also issued a code of conduct for the hosts of these Majalis and processions with the coordination of peace committees. He directed them to settle controversy among the local irritants with meticulous planning thoroughly rehearsed and effectively, conduct to make it free from any disturbance. He directed CPO and all the DPOs to obtain certificate about the resolving of issues regarding month of Moharam between the rival sects. Video films should be made at all venues of Majalis and processions, Nasir Durrani said and added that certificate should be obtained from adjoining buildings, shops, owners of rental property regarding their tenants or any strange or suspicious element necessary coordination with other agencies regarding the vulnerability or any potential threats.
