ISLAMABAD - The executive board meeting (EBM) of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was held on Friday chaired by its Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry.The EBM decided to file three references. Two references approved in Rental Power Projects (RPPs) scam involving former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf. The references were approved in RPPs case Piranghaib, Multan and Techno Engineering Services (Pvt) Ltd Sahuwal, Sialkot for alleged corruption, corrupt practices and misuse of authority in awarding RPPs contracts. The accused are alleged of concealing the facts while getting the approval of the competent forum, making post bid changes thus causing huge loss to the national exchequer. The EBM also approved the filing of reference in a case of illegal plot allotment. The accused Raja Altaf and Raja Hanif are accused of fraud and forgery and misuse of authority and allegedly depriving complainant Ramzan Ali of Rs 9.8 million.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
