NAB chief to get probe report next week

Allotment of plot by NPF to secretary interior

The National Accountability Bureau Rawalpindi has completed investigation into controversial allotment of plot by National Police Foundation (NFP) to the secretary interior and will submit final report to the chairman NAB next week, The Nation has learnt.
Chairman NAB Qamar Zaman Chaudhry ordered Director General NAB Rawalpindi Zahir Shah to investigate the scandal of allotment of plot by NPF to federal secretary interior and submit a report without wasting time.
Sources in NAB informed this scribe that after getting the orders of chairman NAB, Rawalpindi bureau started the investigation process and asked the NFP administration to submit the record of plot allotment.
Sources said National Accountability Bureau  has done its investigation regarding the allotment of plot to the secretary interior.
The NAB also issued notices to secretary interior and NFP and asked how come a plot was allotted and accepted when the Supreme Court, in its judgment announced on 31-10-2013, had ordered NPF to cancel all the illegal allotments made by the foundation to the non-entitled persons, sources added.
The SC judgment clearly says: “All the plots, one, two or more than that which have been illegally and unauthorised allotted without entitlement, to any person, whether police officials, employees of NPF, other government officials or the civilians, businessmen, etc. or their dependants are declared to be illegally allotted and are thus cancelled forthwith.”
The Supreme Court judgment described the shabby affairs of NPF in these words: “While making allotments of plots the then board of directors allotted plots to their near and dears ignoring legal heirs/family members of those police personnel who had laid down their lives for this nation.”
Importantly, neither rules of NPF allow the foundation to allot any plot to the chairman of its committee of administration, who is the federal secretary, nor any law or government rules and regulations allow allotment of such plots.
Talking to The Nation, the DG NAB Rawalpindi said that bureau has almost completed the investigation of allotment of plot to secretary interior and NAB is in position to submit a brief report to chairman NAB on the issue.
