Op against encroachment continues

Islamabad - On the directions of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Maroof Afzal, enforcement directorate of the authority in collaboration with Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) carried out anti-encroachment operation near Khana Pul along Islamabad Expressway and removed illegally established stalls of fruits, vegetables and other stuff.
The teams also confiscated material. After vacating land from the encroachers, trenches were dug at the venue so that encroachments could not crop up again. The operation was supervised by the deputy director general enforcement while senior officers of ITP along with their teams also participated in the operation.
Similarly, during another operation along the same road, enforcement team demolished illegally constructed sheds on CDA land in front of 10 plazas and handed over retrieved land to the environment wing. During another operation, the enforcement directorate disconnected another illegally constructed link road connecting Sector G-12 with Kashmir Highway. During another operation, the enforcement team also demolished an illegally established weighting machine (Kanta) and poles and confiscated material.
On the directions of the chairman CDA, deputy director general enforcement also visited different housing societies and directed the administrations of housing societies not to carry out any development work until they fulfil the codal formalities of planning wing of the authority. The deputy director general enforcement also visited different sectors and directed the enforcement staff to remove all encroachments from the green belts.
