Summer vacations extended again

ISLAMABAD - Summer vacations have been extended once again for the third time for another week owing to the ongoing anti-government sit-ins in the capital.
According to the Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) PRO, a one-week extension has been ordered in the summer vacations of schools and colleges.
Firstly, the educational institutes were supposed to open on August 11 but the protests and sit-ins by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) forced the government to review the decision. Later it was extended to August 24.
The decision was taken not only due to the virtual deadlock in a part of the city, but also because over 50 schools and colleges are occupied by Punjab, Azad Jammu Kashmir police officials and Pakistan Rangers.
An official of the Federal Directorate of Education said that unless the buildings of schools and colleges were vacated by law-enforcing agencies, no dates could be fixed.
A FDE official said that they could not do anything except giving in to the orders of government to extend the summer vacations.
