Islamabad to host football coaching courses from Jan 4

ISLAMABAD Islamabad will host the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) D-Certificate Football Coaching Course from January 4 to 9 next year 2010 at Jinnah Stadium, Pakistan Sports Complex Islamabad. On the directives of Pakistan Football Federation (PFF)s President Makhdoom Syed Faisal Saleh Hayat, the PFF Operation Wing used to conduct such courses. It will be first of the five such courses in year 2010 in Karachi, Peshawar, Lahore and Quetta during which prominent coaches will give lectures to upcoming coaches under 30 years of age. The lectures were based on rules of the game, basics of coaching, planning for training and coaching, little know-how about injuries, body changes as a result of exercises, said PFF Secretary General Lt Col (r) Ahmed Yar Khan Lodhi on Tuesday. The Islamabad Football Association (IFA), in collaboration with the PFF, will organise six-day course in which 24 participants from regions and top organisations will turn up for the course. According to IFA Acting President Sharafat Bukhari aiming to improve the abilities and techniques of coaches, the PFF decided to conduct these courses. All the arrangements are being completed to host the course in befitting manner comprising 12 participants from Islamabad plus three from AJK, FATA, two from Northern Areas and one each from KRL, Army, Navy and PTV. Ahmed Lodhi said that four key things like coaching, competitions, talent hunt and selection on merit were very important. He assured the players and organisers that the PFF was well on the way to take steps for the improvement of the overall game structure, he said. The PFF also asked IFA to adhere to the following while selecting participants: 1: Understand, read and write simple English 2: Young, fit both physically/mentally 3: Born after January 1, 1976 4: Involved with coaching of teams of school, college or university having their own soccer facilities and whose sports cell has the desire to develop football in future 5: Actively involved as coach of teams of prominent club, district, province, national and departmental level.
