ISLAMABAD - Justice (retired) Khalilur Rehman Ramday has said that in order to claim immunity one has to appear before the Supreme Court. Talking to a private TV channel, he said former President Pervez Musharraf claimed immunity from court and had not made a decision while sitting at home. He said that according to the record presented before the court, there were already cases in the Swiss courts and government of Pakistan filed an application to become a party in those cases. “Pakistan claimed in Swiss courts that the money in Swiss Banks is national exchequer of Pakistan and it should be returned to Pakistan,” he said.Ramday said the NRO review petition did not state anything about immunity, adding that the NRO case only motioned the letter written by Attorney General in 2008. He said NRO had no relation to criminal cases, adding that it is a civil matter. He said that Acting Attorney general and provincial advocates generals did not defended the NRO during the hearing of case. He said counsel for Federation Kamal Azfar stated that a conspiracy is being hatched against the government and blamed GHQ for the conspiracy. Later, the federation lawyer retracted statement saying that it was his personal view.He said that court gave four months to rulers and referred the matter to the Parliament and but it did not validate the NRO.This news was published in The Nation newspaper.
