RGH sets up 6 free medical camps for IDPs

ISLAMABAD (APP)- Railways General Hospital (RGH) on Friday set up six free medical camps at Mardan to provide medical support for the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of Malakand Division. Sources in the hospital told this agency here that medical treatment has been given to over 1000 patients in these camps besides providing free medicines of Rs 400,000.The sources said that they have also provided rations to about 800 registered IDPs at Mardan Railways Stations including atta, sugar, pulses and ghee.They said initially three doctors and four paramedics were working in these camps and soon their strength would be increased. In addition to this, all medical services within the IIMCT Railway General Hospital Rawalpindi premises would be made available free of charge for the Malakand Division IDPs visiting the Hospital. At Sahala Campus of the IIMC Trust, arrangements would be made to utilize the available space at the campus to accommodate IDPs arriving Islamabad/Rawalpindi. Executive Director Assad Ullah Khan appointed Dr Omer Awwab Khan, Administrator IIMCT Railway Hospital, Dr Tariq Mehmood (Assistant Administrator Operations) and Muhammad Naseer (HPD Executive) to monitor all activities and coordinate with the Field Hospital.
