ISLAMABAD - The government has decided to take action against three members of Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA), a media report quoted its sources as saying.
According to the report, the government has issued show cause notices to Pemra private members Israr Abbasi, Mian Shams and Fareeha Ikhtiar.
These officials had recently announced suspension of Geo's three licenses after a meeting that was declared illegal afterwards by the Pemra spokesman. The report said that the notice was issued to the members for maligning Pemra by leveling baseless accusations.
