Islamabad - On the identification of a house investigatory committee, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sent at least 200 cases of violation of prescribed criteria in appointments/promotions of the officials of grade 1-16 to the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC), it has been learnt reliably.
Sources in the CDA told The Nation on Wednesday that a committee headed by DG admin and comprising deputy DG admin, deputy DG finance, deputy DG law and deputy DG HRD had identified over 200 cases in which prescribed rules and regulations were violated at the time of appointment or promotion of the officials in recent past. “The CDA is sending around 70 more similar cases to the NIRC very soon for legal action,” a senior officer at the CDA told this scribe on condition of anonymity. He added that the committee had examined just over 800 cases thoroughly and found violation of rules at a large scale. The CDA came into action after some of its officials approached the NIRC against some promotions in past, which they believed were in violation of the rules, showing door of the court to the other aggrieved officials also. However, the NIRC in wake of a large number of applications ordered the authority to examine thoroughly itself the appointments and promotions of all the officials of grade 1-16 and report back in case any violations were found.
The officer said that the CDA was doing its part of the job and then it was up to the NIRC to fix responsibility and punish the culprits. He further said that the inquiry committee had also identified the authority that who violated the rules in each case.
