rawalpindi - Korean Music Group Noreum Machi enthralled the people of twin cities at a special event organised by the Embassy of Korea in collaboration with Rawalpindi Arts Council yesterday.
The grand cultural performance consisted of basically two performances: one by a Korean Music Group Noreum Machi, the other by a Korean performer Yong-Bu Ha.
In his welcome address, Ambassador of Korea to Pakistan Suh Dong Gu Korean expressed his deep gratitude to the Rawalpindi Arts Council for all the support and assistance to make this event possible and successful. He added that as the new Korean ambassador, he is putting special emphasis on cultivating closer cultural ties and people-to-people contacts between two great nations - Korea and Pakistan. Suh Dong Gu said even though Islamabad and Rawalpindi are twin cities, he sensed that most of cultural events take place in Islamabad, especially those arranged by the diplomatic community.
“That’s why we decided to arrange this special event in Rawalpindi to show our respect for the rich culture and history of the city. I am more than happy to be able to share with you some of the unique aspects of Korean culture through this event,” he added.
