RAWALPINDI – Punjab Emergency Service (PES) Rescue 1122 conducted Saturday Building Fire Safety Inspection workshop for inspectors of Teshil Municipal Administration (TMA) to sensitise them about Fire Safety Standards in high risk and high-rise buildings.
The purpose of Fire Safety Inspection Workshop is to impart basic knowledge about Fire Safety equipment installed in high-rise building so that Inspectors of TMA could carry out effective Inspection of high risk building and authentic data could be received to Emergency Service and City District Government Rawalpindi (CDGR).
The Inspectors from TMA Rawal Town attended Building Fire Safety Inspection Workshop at Community Training Centre (CTC) Rawalpindi.
Ms Deeba Shahnaz, Rescue 1122 spokesperson, welcomed the participants and showed Ghakhar Plaza disaster documentary to highlight main risks to Emergency Service for conducting rescue operation during such disasters.
Dr Abdur Rahman, District Emergency Officer, Rescue 1122 briefed them about installation required for Fire Safety in high rise building and assigned them task to fill building Fire Safety Inspection Checklist in respective areas. The participants have also gone through practical demonstration of Fire Extinguishers. Furthermore, Dr Abdur Rahman said that service was expecting that all Inspectors would carry out Building Fire Safety Inspection with extra vigilance and bring authentic data to minimize fire risks to build safer communities in Rawalpindi district.
