Tehran, Kabul express condolence over air crash

ISLAMABAD - President of Islamic Republic of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi and Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi have sent messages to their respective Pakistani counterparts to expressing their deep condolences on the tragic air crash.
According to press release issued by Embassy of Iran here on Tuesday, President Ahmadinejad in his message to President Asif Ali Zardari has expressed his deep sorrow, condoling and expressing sympathy also with the bereaved families of the crash victims and the Pakistani nation, praying for the recovery of the wounded, patience for the victims’ family members, and the salvation of the souls of the bygone.
First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi in a message to Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani condoled the death of a number of the country’s nationals in an air crash.
“I cordially express condolences over the demise of your countrymen in a passenger plane crash.”
Sympathising with the Pakistani government, nation and the bereaved families, Rahimi wished the families’ patience and the dead divine forgiveness. Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in his message to Pakistani counterpart Hina Rabbani Khar also condoled the death of a group of Pakistani nationals in a plane crash near Islamabad. He expressed condolences and sympathy with both Pakistani nation and government. He also prayed for the peace of soul of the victims of the accident.
Meanwhile, Afghan Foreign Minister Dr Zalmai Rassoul called Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar Tuesday afternoon and offered condolences on the tragic air crash near Islamabad on April 20.
He also expressed deep sympathies for the bereaved families. Foreign Minister Khar thanked Dr. Rassoul for his call and invited him to visit Pakistan. Accepting the invitation, Mr. Rassoul said that he looked forward to visiting Islamabad on mutually convenient dates.
