RPO suspends 4 constables for abetting criminals

RAWALPINDI - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Nasir Khan Durrani Tuesday terminated the services of four constables on the charges of having links with the criminals and anti social elements. The RPO also placed SI Fateh Khan of PS Taxila under suspension and issued show cause notice to SHO PS Taxila on the charge of faulty investigation of criminal case. According to the details, one Muhammad Ashraf complainant of criminal case FIR No.644/09 with PS Taxila appeared before Nasir Khan Durrani and complained that SI Fateh Khan Investigating Officer (IO) arrested nominated accused but did not recover the case property due to ulterior motive and resultantly it has weakened his prosecution case. On the said complaint, Regional Police Officer directed DSP Taxila to enquire into the matter. During enquiry it was transpired that the allegations leveled against SI Fateh Khan were found to be true and it was done with connivance of Inspector SHO. The Enquiry Officer recommended departmental action against them. Upon this, Nasir Khan Durrani placed Investigating Officer of the case under suspension and also issued show cause notice to SHO Taxila for misconduct. Regional Police Officer came to know that Constables Abdul Rehman, Ghulam Rasool of PS Waris Khan, Constable Tassadaq Hussain of PS Pirwadhai and Constable Abdul Ghaffar of PS Ganjmandi were mixing up with criminals, receiving monthlies from narcotics peddlers, prostitution dens, providing them shelter for running their business and enjoyed bad reputation in the area. Nasir Khan Durrani detailed SSP (RIB) and DSP Sultan Mehmood Chaddar for holding enquiry. After in depth probe all the allegations were found correct. The Enquiry officers also reported that they were earning bad name for the police department and recommended strict departmental action against them. In the light of enquiry, Regional Police Officer terminated Constable Abdul Rehman, Constable Ghulam Rasool of PS Waris Khan. Constable Tassadaq Husasain of PS Pirwadhai and Constable Abdul Ghaffar of PS Ganjmandi from service.
