4 prayer leaders arrested in Pindi

Rawalpindi - As many as four prayer leaders (Khateeb) of different mosques in the city were arrested for violating the ban on the use of loudspeaker during the Friday prayers, informed police spokesman here on Saturday.
Police also seized sound systems from the custody of the prayer leaders while filing cases against them under Punjab Sound System Regulation Ordinance 2015, he said. He siad that all the Khateebs were produced before a court of law. He said that the use of amplifier for any speech except Azan was banned in the city.
 and action would be taken against all the prayer leaders who would take the law into their hands.
It may be noted here that after a bloody clash between two religious groups in Darul Aloom Taleem ul Quran, Raja Bazaar on November 15, 2013, the government banned use of loudspeakers in the city.
