Stringent security in capital for Quds Day

ISLAMABAD  - The Islamabad Capital Territory Police have made a comprehensive security plan to avert any mishap, as people of Islamabad will observe Youm-ul-Quds.
"The Islamabad police have made foolproof security arrangements on the eve of Youm-ul-Quds and 3,500 policemen along with contingents of Rangers will perform security duties on this occasion in the city," a press note quoted SSP Islamabad Muhammad Ali Nekokara, as saying on Thursday.
The SSP directed all sub-divisional police officers and SHOs to improve security and ensure checking of every person through metal detectors at mosques and imambargahs in their respective jurisdictions. 
Special contingents of police will perform security duties along with various rallies to ensure security of participants while personnel of Rangers will also assist them in performance of security duties.
Police officials of various zones have been asked to specify parking areas far from masajid and imambargahs and ensure strict patrolling to keep vigilant eye on suspects.
The cops of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) will also perform special duties to avoid inconvenience to road users and divert traffic at alternate routes. Around 532 policemen of ITP will perform duties on this occasion, SSP (Traffic) Asmat Ullah Junjeo said. 
Regarding security duties, the SSP Islamabad categorically directed to ensure compliance of security plan and launch special drive against the professional beggars and they should not be allowed to gather outside the worship places.
The police officials were also directed to carry out special checking of hotels, motels, inns and guesthouses for security purpose. It has been directed for high vigilance security at the exit and entry points without causing any inconvenience to the citizens. Similarly, patrolling in various areas has been enhanced and the police officials are exercising strict vigilance.
"All the SDPOs and SHOs have been directed to personally supervise the security arrangements and ensure the deployment of police officials or private security guards where it was necessary and in this regard no laxity shall be tolerated," he added.
It has been decided that senior police officials will brief the policemen deputed for security purpose and maintain high vigilance.
