PML-Q, Likeminded set to file reference against each other

ISLAMABAD – A serious rift has developed between PML-Q and its faction Likeminded Group about filing references against each other regarding casting of votes to Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Central President of PML-Q Likeminded Group, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim in a press statement issued here on Sunday said his party would soon file references against those party MNAs who cast their votes in favour of Raja Pervez Ashraf for their personal interest. Expressing regrets, he said these people have violated party discipline to become deputy prime minister, ministers and to protect their dear ones from corruption cases. He also welcomed the statements of Senior Federal Minister Ch. ervez Elahi that his party would move reference against six MNAs who did not take part in the election and therefore violated the party discipline.
In a related development, PML-Q chief has consulted constitutional experts to file a reference for the disqualification of MNAs who abstained from voting during Friday’s prime ministerial elections. Sources said that the reference being prepared by Dr Khalid Ranjha, SM Zafar and Waseem Sajjad will be filed to Speaker next week.
Those party MNAs who would face reference for not participating in the elections included Humayun Saifullah, Kashmala Tariq, Ghulam Haider Samejo, Arbab Zakaullah, Awais Leghari, Sumaira Malik and Kishan Chand Parwani.
