ISLAMABAD - The Pizza Hut management on Tuesday issued appointment letters to 13 BISP beneficiaries/nominees for newly established Pizza Hut branch in Quetta.
On the occasion, the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) chairman stated that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was aspiring to take BISP a step further in providing relief to the impoverished and vulnerable segments of society, said a news release issued here on Tuesday.
He added that through vocational training and job placements, BISP beneficiaries would be graduating out of the programme by earning a sustainable livelihood.
He said that it was a landmark achievement which has resulted from a MoU between Benazir Income Support Programme and MCR (Pvt) Ltd, which is the franchise of international food chains of Pizza Hut, Burger King and TGIF for Pakistani territory.
The Benazir Income Support Programme is imparting vocational training to its selected beneficiaries in various trades under its vocational training program namely Waseela-e-Rozgar through public and private sector training institutes. The programme is focused on inculcating skills into the beneficiaries which would enable them to earn a respectable and decent livelihood.
Four beneficiaries of BISP have already been placed on job by the food chain in Karachi.
The BISP has already signed MoU with Korangi Association of Trade & Industries (KATI), Daewoo Pakistan Bus Service and other trade associations for providing job opportunities to beneficiaries.
A recent MoU was inked between BISP and SITE Association, which is the largest industrial zone in the country with over 3500 industrial units and over 500,000 workers in various capacities.
According to the memorandum, the SITE has offered placement of successful Benazir Income Support Programme  programme trainees in industries along with providing on-the-job training in different trades. SITE Association will determine the needs of the industry and skills development training would accordingly be provided to the beneficiaries by Benazir Income Support Programme, while their placement in the industry will be ensured by the association.
