PM for maximum facilities to NW IDPs
 
 
 

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday issued directions for provision of maximum facilities to internally displaced persons (IDPs) of North Waziristan Agency at the camps.
Chairing a high level meeting to review the arrangements for the IDPs here at the PM’s House, prime minister asked authorities to facilitate IDP’s in every respect. “Government is with IDPs in this hour of trial and they will be taken care of,” he said.
Minister for State and Frontier Regions Lt-Gen (r) Abdul Qadir Baloch, Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Mehtab Ahmed Khan Abbasi, Director General Military Operations (DG MO) and DG ISPR also attended the meeting. Minister SAFRON and DG MO briefed the prime minister about the present situation of IDPs.
Sources in government informed The Nation that prime minister was also briefed about the current state of ongoing military operation in Waziristan Agency and the armed forces strategy to deal with militants after the evacuation of the civilian people from the troubled areas.
Meanwhile, talking to media on Tuesday evening State Minister for SAFRON Abdul Qadir Baloch said that so far government had released Rs 1.5 billion to provide relief to IDPs in Fata and more funds would be provided in due course of time.
He said every affected family was being provided with cash assistance of Rs 12,000 for sustenance. Rupees 3,000 additional assistance would be provided to those families who had hired the house.
Qadir Baloch said the prime minister would soon visit IDPs in Bannu and added he could also announce more relief measures to mitigate sufferings of the affected people.
