Ready for talks with India: PM

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhy Abdul Majeed and Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Syed Medhi Shah called on Prime Minister Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso separately and discussed various issues concerning their respective areas.
In a meeting with Prime Minister AJK Ch Abdul Majid, Prime Minister Khoso said that Pakistan would continue to extend moral and diplomatic support to the struggle of Kashmiri people.  The Prime Minister reiterated that Pakistan is ready for constructive engagement through composite dialogue with India for the resolution of all outstanding issues including the core issue of Kashmir.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed informed the Prime Minister about the status of ongoing development projects in AJ&K and appreciated the assistance being provided by the government of Pakistan in the socio-economic development of AJ&K.
Syed Medhi Shah briefed the Premier Khoso about the overall situation in Gilgit Baltistan. He congratulated the Prime Minister on the recently conducted general elections in the country and said that all political parties and groups participated in the elections, which reflect their faith in the democratic process.
While talking to Mehdi Shah, the Prime Minister said that the caretaker government has taken all possible steps to provide maximum relief to the masses.
During the meeting the Chief Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the overall situation including the financial allocation to Gilgit-Baltistan. He also briefed the Prime Minister on development projects being executed for the well being of the people.
Meanwhile, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan, Mustafa Babur Hizlan, called on Prime Minster Justice (retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso at Prime Minister's House on Friday.
The Turkish Ambassador congratulated the Prime Minister for successfully conducting the general elections in the country.
Hizlan who was also an observer during the elections said, "These were one of the fairest elections Pakistan ever had."
The Prime Minister said that he bowed his head in gratitude to Almighty Allah for providing him the strength to hold general elections in the country.
These elections, the Prime Minister said, augur well for the country and would ensure continuity in the democratic process.
The Prime Minister said that the next phase of transfer of power to the elected representatives will see through the process culminating into the first-ever transition to a democratically elected government.
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Turkey have historical, cultural, religious and brotherly relations and "We are proud of our relations with the great Turkish nation".
The Prime Minister said that Pakistan and Turkey have been closely cooperating on various issues at bilateral and multilateral forums and enjoy exemplary relationship. The Prime Minister expected the hope that the relationship between the two brotherly countries would continue to expand further in times to come and cement the existing fraternal relations.
Khoso lauds media role in elections:  Prime Minister Justice (Retd) Mir Hazar Khan Khoso has appreciated the role of media in creating awareness among the people about the importance of general elections, which resulted in a huge turnout on the polling day for general elections.
The Prime Minister expressed these views in a meeting with Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Arif Nizami in a meeting at the PM's House on Friday afternoon. The Prime Minister expressed the confidence that a free and independent media will continue to encourage and safeguard the democratic process in the country.
The minister informed the Prime Minister about various steps being undertaken by the Ministry for the welfare of working journalists.
