Capital police given 15 days to improve performance

Islamabad - Inspector General of Police Islamabad, Tariq Masood Yasin has given 15-day deadline to all the SDPOs and heads of police stations to ensure effective policing measures in their respective areas, a police spokesman said yesterday. He formally gave the deadline while addressing a meeting held at central police office here. AIG Operations Asher Hameed, SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani, all Zonal SPs, SP Headquarters, all SDPOs and SHOs were also present on the occasion. The IGP categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to the citizens. “No laxity in this regard would be tolerated,” he warned.


Tariq Masood stressed for speedy disposal of cases and their investigation purely on merit. Policing is a service-oriented job and every police official must serve the humanity with devotion, the IGP maintained. The IGP said that Islamabad police are determined to ensure protection to the lives and property of the citizens and no stone will be left unturned to accomplish this responsibility. He said that FIRs of reported crime must be registered at police stations on merit and without any delay and inconvenience to the citizens. He said departmental action would be initiated in future against the responsible officers having complaint against them. He further directed that record of all the offices should be maintained properly according to relevant law and rules. He said the offices with good performance would be encouraged while those whose performance is not up to the mark would have to face disciplinary action.
