NA debates President’s address to joint sitting today

ISLAMABAD - After the break of two days, the National Assembly session will resume today (Monday) at 4:00pm with Speaker Ayaz Sadiq in the chair to debate the issue of the President’s address to a joint sitting of parliament.
After a protest, all the opposition parties on Friday had agreed extension in the session of the National Assembly to debate the President’s address. The NA session was to prorogue on Friday, but on the request of Leader of Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah, the session was extended by the Speaker to provide time to MPs for debate on the presidential address. Leader of Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah would open debate on the presidential address on Monday.
As compared to ruling Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), Opposition parties particularly Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf, Jamaat-e-Islami, and Sheikh Rashid’s Awami Muslim League would likely come up with harsh criticism on PPP for their dismal performance over the past five years rule.
While Jamiat-I-Ulema-I-Islam, Awami National Party and Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-I-Azam) would obviously remain soft because they were all part of the coalition government with PPP.
