islamabad - Pakistan Humanitarian Forum launched a photography exhibition “Taking Action Together – Pakistan’s international Non-Governmental Partners Supporting Stronger Communities” yesterday. The exhibition featured 40 images from international non-governmental organisations’ projects across Pakistan, capturing the impact of their work and telling the stories of how this work has made a difference as well as changed lives of individuals and communities for the better. Ashraf Mall, Chair of PHF, said, “The purpose of the photo exhibition was to highlight the difference that can be made in people’s lives when we work together to build stronger communities.” The exhibition showcased emergency response following the October 2015 earthquake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa; another project with street and working children in Peshawar that annually supports enrolment of up to 400 children into formal schooling; while a different project in Tharparkar introduced the use of solar panels to provide safe, clean drinking water to communities.
In 2015 these international non-governmental organisations’ programmes reached over 22 million people in Pakistan with services and assistance.
