Rawalpindi - Regional Police Officer (RPO) Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja on Saturday directed the City Police Officer (CPO) to enhance security of district courts to avoid any untoward incident.
He asked the CPO to intensify search operation in the areas around District Courts as per the National Action Plan to flush out suspects from the high security zone.
According to a spokesman of RPO Office, RPO Wisal Fakhar Sultan Raja wrote a letter to CPO Israr Ahmed Abbasi in which he ordered CPO to strengthen security around the District Courts to maintain law and order situation. “All the offices and courtrooms should be scanned through sniffer dogs before starting official office timings besides all the litigants, lawyers and other court staff should also be checked with metal detector and walkthrough gates,” he informed.
He stated that the RPO also instructed the CPO to carry out search operation in the suburbs of district courts to purge them from anti- social elements and suspects as per NAP.
Meanwhile, SSP (Operations) Karamat Ullah Malik, DSP Cantt Syed Iqbal Kazmi and SHO Police Station Westridge Khalil Bhatti were summoned by RPO in his office in wake of surging crime rate in areas of Cantt and Garrison, including Westrige. The top police boss directed the police officers to arrest the culprits and robbers. He also directed them to enhance patrolling in the crime-affected areas to stop house robberies.
