136 obtain nomination papers for Pindi seats




RAWALPINDI – Contesting Rawalpindi’s National Assembly and Provincial Assembly seats, a total of 136 candidates from different political parties obtained their nomination papers on Monday.
PML-N Raja Ashfaq Sarwar, Dr Jamal Nasir, Chaudhry Sarfraz Afzal and Raja Muhammad Hanif Advocate; PML (Zia) head Ijaz-ul-Haq and his brother Dr Anwar-ul-Haq; PML (Q) Raja M Basharat and his brother Raja M Nasir and PTI’s Dar Khan were the prominent among the 136 candidates, who obtained their nomination papers to contest general elections 2013. For NA-54, for which Yar Muhammad Gondal was appointed as Returning Officer (RO), PML (Zia) Muhammad Ijaz-ul-Haq and his brother Dr Anwar-ul-Haq, Yar Muhammad Gondal, Chaudhry Waris, Chaudhry Asghar and Muhammad Amir have obtained nomination papers.
Dr Jamal Nasir and Raja Muhammad Hanif advocate of N league, Syed Zahoor, Awais Ali Wasti, Sajjad Ali Akbar, JI’s Raza Ahmed Shah, Zahid Aziz Alvi, Sardar Khursheed Khan, Sheikh Khizar Hayyat, Asad Abbasi Advocate, Ch Asad Perveiz, Ishtiaq Ahmed and Mirza had taken their nomination papers for NA-56 from the RO Muhammad Naheem Arshad.
To contest the elections for the seat of NA-50, RO of which was Muhammad Jahangir Mir, Nadeem Abbasi, Ch Ansar Mehmood and Nazar Abbasi obtained their nomination papers.
Ch Sarfraz Afzal, the former MPA of N league, PTI’s Dar Khan, Q league’s Raja Basharat and Raja Nasir got tickets from RO Muhammad Aslam Gondal to lock horns in NA-52.

The Provincial Assembly seats have also seen a rush of candidates; many aspirants have received nominations for PP-1, PP-2, PP-5, PP-6, PP-9, PP-10, PP-11, PP-12, PP-13 and PP-14.
