ATC remands four for distributing hate material

Iawalpindi-Four alleged activists of a banned organisation who were arrested by Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) for distributing hate material, were remanded till November 8 by an anti-terrorism court here yesterday.

The court awarded CTD the 15 days of physical remand of four alleged activists of the banned organisation.

According to details, the accused including Ismael, Usman, Abdul Qadoos and Shakil were presented by a team of CTD Rawalpindi before the court where they were shown to have been arrested on October 24 from different parts of Rawalpindi while distributing hate material among the people.  

The CTD pleaded the ATC to award physical remand of the accused for further investigation. Accepting the plea, the ATC gave the four accused men into physical custody of CTD.

The judge also asked the CTD to produce the accused before the court on November 8.

According to available information, a CTD team on a tip-off carried out a raid in Lane Number 7 of Gulistan Colony and rounded up two activists of banned outfit for distributing hate material among the residents.

A case number 36 under sections 11F/11G/11W of Anti Terrorism Act with Police Station CTD was filed against Ismael of Mardan and Usman of Taxila.

Moreover, the CTD also apprehended two other members of the banned outfit namely Abdul Qadoos and Shakil and lodged a case against them.
