Munir elected as RCB VP

Rawalpindi-Rawalpindi Cantonment Board elected Malik Munir as its new vice president yesterday.

The new vice president was elected during a meeting chaired by Station Commander Brig Syed Raza Hassan.

As many as four candidates Malik Munir, Haji Zafar Iqbal, Rashid Khan and Hafiz Hussain were fielded by the ruling party for the slot but Malik Munir was elected as vice president. He is widely believed to be backed by PML-N MNA Malik Abrar Ahmed whose tussle with former vice president Raja Jahandad created mess in the board and the 12 members of board moved a no-confidence move against Raja. All the 12 members of board were present on occasion who exercised their right to elect new vice president.
