CDA starts energy saving bulbs installation

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Deputy Director Streetlights Capital Development authority (CDA), Roshan Junejo said on Saturday the civic body has started installation of energy saving bulbs of streetlights. He contradicted a news item appearing in section of press that CDA had failed to install energy saving bulbs on streetlights across the city. Talking to this news agency, he said that Director himself had given the proposal to use energy saver on streetlights to save power to cope with the prevailing energy crisis in the country. The Authority has already installed energy saving bulbs in Blue Area and the process of installing bulbs here at Parade Avenue, he added would be completed soon. Meanwhile a CDA spokesman said the authority here on Friday demolished nine illegal houses, which were a hurdle in development work at Saidpur village.   He added that development work and removal of encroachments are still continuing in Saidur Village. The spokesman further said that CDA had also started an operation against government quarters and flats where residents have constructed additional rooms and other structures on CDA property.
