CDA to launch water-saving campaign

ISLAMABAD (Online)- Chairman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) Imtiaz Inayat Elahi has said that a special campaign to control misuse of drinking water would be launched. In a statement he said water is a valuable element and its wastage should be avoided at all costs as people facing severe problems in getting clean drinking water. The CDA Chairman said that it had became a routine to clean vehicles with clean drinking water and a comprehensive plan had been devised to control that practice. He underlined that people cleaning their vehicles with drinking water would be warned in first stage and fine to be imposed in the next stage. The CDA Chairman emphasised that it was the duty of every citizen to use water carefully. Meanwhile, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to plant 0.4 million saplings in different areas of Islamabad during current monsoon season. Environment department of CDA has chalked out a strategy to plant saplings alongwith under construction roads and on Margalla hills. The environmental department of civic agency would also plant saplings in Sector Forest Park, G-13 and D-12 and Zero point interchange.
