AJK polls expose fake surveys about PPP Govt: Wattoo

Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs Mian Manzoor Wattoo has said that the elections to AJK Legislative Assembly (LA) have exposed the fake surveys conducted during the past few days, as the elections results proved that popularity graph of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani is on the rise. Addressing a news conference here in Islamabad at the Kashmir Council on Monday after completion of election process in the AJK LA, he said that despite securing clear majority in the assembly the PPP wishes to form government with Muslim Conference (MC) and independent MLAs. To a question, the minister said that the party Co-chairman, Asif Ali Zardari would decide about the candidate to the office of Prime Minister in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. He said that those who are talking about removal of the federal government before coming March were living in fools' paradise and clarified it would complete its constitutional tenure. He further said that in next general polls PPP would also get an overwhelming majority in Punjab and would form a government there too. Mian Manzoor Wattoo said that the government honoured the promise of holding fair and transparent elections in the AJK. He added that the local administration is responsible for law and order situation, adding that the Shahbaz Sharif government in Punjab and the MC government in the AJK are responsible for law and order situation. He said that the son of AJK Prime Minister lost election which is another proof of impartial elections in the state. The Minister thanked all the allies of the government including PML-Q. He also paid tributes to media for its independent role in the election process.
