‘Literature true rep of culture’



ISLAMABAD - Only literature knows no boundary and writers have a worldwide excess to the readers while literature can be trusted as true representative of any culture. Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) is the institution which has burden on its shoulder to get the world introduce with literature in Pakistani languages. These views were expressed by Dr. Aslam Syed in a ceremony held in his honor arranged by PAL.Abdul Hameed, Chairman, PAL thanked the dignitary and also presented a certificate of PAL’s Life Fellow Member to the dignitary.  Ishfaq Saleem Mirza, Yasir Jawad, Asghar Abid, Nighat Saleem and others put questions to the scholar. A number of writers, scholars and intellectuals from the twin cities participated in a ceremony.Dr. Aslam Syed further said that there is no doubt that we are producing significant literature but the problem is only one that we have not any effective mechanisms to promote them worldwide. Only some of our writers are known in other languages and serve as identity of our country. He further said that literature is the most effective reference of identity in the world. He suggested that PAL should collaborate with major publishers for the printing and marketing of the translation of Pakistani Literature worldwide.
