RAWALPINDI - The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) in continuation of the campaign against drug mafia, recovered mega consignments of narcotics, informed ANF spokesman on Tuesday.According to him, ANF staff got information that some international drug traffickers would try to smuggle huge quantity of narcotics from Afghanistan to Iran via Balochistan. In first operation, ANF Balochistan raided a house in Village Auram Zai of District Qilla Abdullah and recovered 5173 kg of Charas. In another operation, ANF intercepted a Land Cruiser near Village Amri of District Chaghi and recovered 1077 kg of Opium after heavy exchange of fire with the drugs smugglers. In both of the operations, the smugglers escaped under cover of heavy exchange of fire and darkness. Case under CNS Act-1997 has been registered against the unidentified culprits and further investigation is in progress. It is pertinent to mention here that in recent past ANF made record seizures of drugs which speaks devotion of the force towards making this region a Drug Free Society
