SC allows Kamran’s father to become party

ISLAMABAD - The Supreme Court on Tuesday while hearing the case of mysterious death of Kamran Faisal, accepted the plea of his father to become party in the instant case.A two-member bench of the apex court comprising Justice Jawad S Khawaja and Justice Khilji Arif Hussain heard the death case of Kamran Faisal Kamran Faisal, an Assistant Director of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) who was investigating Rs 22 billion RPPs scam, involving Prime Minister Raja Pervez Asharf and others, was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his official residence in Federal Lodges, Islamabad, on Jan 18.During the hearing Aftab Bajwa, counsel for Abdul Hameed, father of Kamran Faisal submitted before the court that his client wanted to become a party in the instant case as he has sufficient information about the death of his son.The counsel also submitted before the court that his client has no access to the record so for, filed by the concern authorities regarding the death of Kamran Faisal. The court directed the office to supply the copies of documents related to case except the forensic report, which is kept sect to Kamran’s father.The court accepted the plea of father of Kamran Faisal adjourned the hearing till April 3 as K K Agha, Prosecutor General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) could not appear before the court due to his personal engagements.  On last hearing, the Punjab Forensic Science Laboratory had filed its report before the Supreme Court over the mysterious death of Kamran Faisal.
