‘N govt people-friendly’

ISLAMABAD - Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Tuesday said that the PML-N government launched people friendly schemes and policies under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during the last two years and it would also continue these policies as well.
Talking to media men after attending a conference on inter-faith harmony, he said reduction in oil prices in the international market has not been transferred to the people in many countries, including India but Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif gave instructions to pass on the relief to the masses. He said as a result of reduction of prices of POL products, the prices of electricity and items of daily life came down in the country. Pervaiz Rashid said that the government overcome electricity crisis and it controlled the unscheduled loadshedding across the country. He also appreciated the government's decision regarding less than 10 hours loadshedding in the holy moth of Ramazan. He said the government launched projects to generate more electricity, import LNG, develop infrastructure, and run metro bus are all aimed at benefitting people.
Pervaiz Rashid said Punjab is peaceful and the situation under control now. He said an unfortunate incident took place at Daska yesterday and the chief minister Punjab immediately announced formation of the Judicial Commission for transparent investigations.
He informed that the police officer who killed two lawyers has been arrested and a case registered against him.
Earlier, speaking at the conference, the minister said it augurs well that people with different religious background gathered under one roof for the sake of peace and harmony. He said by doing so we have sent a strong message to the outside world about firm commitment of Pakistani nation to stand united in all circumstances.
