'Swine flu patients in PIMS recovering'

ISLAMABAD (APP) - Both patients of swine flu admitted in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) are stable and they will be discharged soon. According to hospital sources here on Saturday, both swine flu patients, Syed Abdul Qadir Hussain and Imran Khan, are recovering and are out of serious condition now due to proper care of doctors of the hospital. They said both patients are on five-day treatment after which they will be re-examined and if they are found stable they will be discharged from the hospital. Deputy Director of PIMS Dr Waseem Khawaja, while talking to this news agency, said that both patients have been placed in separate rooms under strict barrier-nursing and only designated medical and paramedical staff are looking after the patients, while non-essential staff and attendants are not allowed to enter the room. He said the hospital has provided special protective clothing, masks and gloves to those hospital personnel who are attending the infectious patients. Dr Khawaja said that Executive Director of PIMS Dr Altaf Hussain had constituted two committees to look after the affairs of swine flu.
