Passenger killed in road accident

Rawalpindi - A passenger was killed while 13 others sustained injuries when a passenger van overturned on GT Road near Radio Pakistan, sources told yesterday.
Rescue 1122, which arrived at the scene, took the dead and 6 injured to District Headquarters Hospital (DHQ) for postmortem and medical treatment. However, the rest of injured were sent to homes after providing initial medical treatment by rescuers.
According to sources, a passenger van Toyota Hiace carrying 14 people were coming to Rawalpindi from Mandra when one of the vehicle’s back tyres got burst on GT Road near Radio Pakistan and the driver lost its control over steering. As a result, the vehicle turned turtle and one passenger was killed whereas 13 others sustained injuries.
On calling, Rescue 1122 rushed to the scene and shifted the dead and six injured to DHQ for medical treatment. The other injured were sent to homes after providing necessary medical treatment.
The deceased were identified as Ishfaq and the injured as Muhammad Jamil, Muhammad Ramzan, Muhammad Arshad, Noreen, Maira and Abid. Police also reached the spot and started investigation.
