Tight security plan for NPC poll chalked out

ISLAMABAD (PPI) - The capital administration has chalked out stringent security plan for upcoming elections of National Press Club (NPC), Islamabad scheduled to held on December 30. The security plan was finalised after mutual consultation between management of press club and police officials. Talking to this agency a senior police official told that extra police force and special commodes would be deployed around the press club to avoid any unwanted incident. He said at least three walk through gates would be installed for the entry of journalists to cast their votes. Sniffing dogs would also be provided for security check. Security personals in plain cloths would be deployed to be vigilant over the movement on elect ion day, he added. He said every journalist would be allowed to enter press club after complete security clearance. He said traffic police has also been coordinated in this respect which would control the terrific movement. Shaheed-e-Millat road and local road of sector F-6/1 leading to NPC would remain closed on December day. An arrangement of the parking for journalists and visitors has been selected near Shaheed-e-Millat secretariat near China chowk. Meanwhile the management of NPC advised the members of NPC to bring their CNIC and official card on December 30. Following the terrorist attack on press club in Peshawar last week, the Interior Minister Rehman Malik had ordered to provide VIP security to all media organizations throughout the country.
