Anusha given addl task to defend PML-N in media

ISLAMABAD - In recognition to the services of State Minister Anusha Rehman in defending PML-N against PTI’s allegations of rigging in general elections 2013, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday gave her additional responsibilities of defending the party on media.
She had been assigned to participate in media talk shows and defend the party and give the ruling party’s point of view especially on the rift between PTI and PML-N over rigging charges.
Anusha, a parliamentarian since 2008, had managed to get a seat in National Assembly on women reseveed seats in 2003 elections.
Insiders believe that soon the soft-spoken, hardworking and vibrant female state minister would be elevated as a full minister.
She has worked really hard, day and night in preparing a strategy and documents against the rigging allegations, and she fought the case very well. She has been in good books of the prime minister, a source said.
In her journey to success, from nowhere to an influential, close aide of Nawaz Sharif, she has made some enemies also, who are not only vocal against alleged corruption cases of Anusha Rehman, but also question her abilities as state minister for IT.
The first allegation against her is using her position as a state minister to get a lucrative post for her husband Shabir Khan in Pakistan Telecommunication Mobile Limited last month. However, within months he resigned from his post following a strong uproar in media.
Anusha has also been alleged of using her position to buy an expensive SUV for her personal use, from her Ministry’s fund, a claim she reject strongly.
