ISLAMABAD - Information Minister Pervez Rashid has criticized PTI chief Imran Khan over his speech at Bahawalpur saying that he was doing the politics of disruption and instability.
"Imran wants to come to power through foul means by levelling baseless allegations of rigging. He must demonstrate a streak of sportsmanship and would have to wait for another 4 years to contest elections. Continuous bashing of electoral process is tantamount to challenging the very basis of democracy," he said. He said that Khan's constant disregard for parliamentary norms and reliance on mass mobilisation through public gatherings was not conducive for the future of democracy.
"It is time to mobilise masses to rescue IDPs and stand by our soldiers rather than doing politics," he asserted.
The minister said that the government had cut the expenditures of Prime Minister House and have diverted the amount to the welfare of IDPs whereas the PTI had spent millions on public rallies instead.
In a statement, he said that PTI had held rallies in Islamabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot and Bahawalpur and had spent Rs 370.07 million on all these processions. "The PTI could have had spent money for the welfare of the IDPs," he added.
He said that PTI chief Imran Khan should have realized that armed forces were busy in operation against the militants in North Waziristan and he was holding a rally in Bahawalpur against government.
He said PTI arranged the 15000 fancy chairs for Bahwalpur gatherings and paid Rs 2000 as fare of each chair, however, it can provide the one day food to each displaced family with this amount.
Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran always raises baseless allegations on others but perhaps have no answer to the fact that salaries of Kyber Pakhtunkhawa Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak and cabinet members  were raised by 200 percent.
The minister stated that Punjab Government had already spent millions of rupees on the security of PTI processions and hundreds Jawans of Punjab police were appointed on the security of PTI gatherings across the province.

Staff Reporter from Peshawar adds: Reacting to the statement of Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan regarding dissolution of KP Assembly, Awami National Party (ANP) Senior Leader MNA Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has questioned whether the House is Imran Kahn's personal property, saying such statements insulted the masses' mandate given to PTI in the last general elections. "If the provincial assembly's raison d'être is so the PTI chief can use it as a political tool for his opponents, threatening to dissolve it every now and then," Bilour said this while addressing a news conference at his residence here on Friday.
With the statement of PTI chief, he said the statement of PTI Chief had created hatred and hurt the mandate of the masses given to his party during last general elections in the province. "This is an undemocratic and non-political attitude and can derail the democratic system," said Bilour, adding linking the demand for thumb verification in four National Assembly constituencies with the KP Assembly is extra-constitutional and undemocratic.
He said instead of threatening to dissolve the KP Assembly, Imran Khan should quit the National Assembly.  "Some elements have become dangerous for democracy and want to derail it," he added.
After wining the NA-01 constituency, the ANP senior leader said the PTI chairman was hesitating to visit Peshawar and sit in Banigali, Islamabad. He said conspiracies were being hatched against Pakhtuns, which could not be succeeded.
Neither favouring nor opposing the military operation in North Waziristan Agency, Bilour viewed the Pakhtuns again were confronting with a difficult situation. "If this war is not only of Pakhtuns then why displaced families are banned to enter other provinces," he questioned.
PTI chief, he said made a commitment and promise with masses before general elections to bring a change in the province. "Now Imran Khan is running away from this province," Bilour added. He said Imran Khan needed to establish his office in Peshawar and extend his services to the masses in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. 
But, he said the change slogan raised by PTI in the general polls was completely invisible. He said no practical step was being taken to end the miseries of people.
Bilour castigated that the deteriorating law and order, kidnapping for ransom and extortion incidents are the glaring example of the PTI-led provincial government's failure during last one year rule in the province.
