AJK PM urges media to highlight Kashmiris’ plight

ISLAMABAD - Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Abdul Majeed on Tuesday called upon the media to play their vital role in highlighting the inalienable right of self determination to people of Kashmir at domestic and international levels for the peaceful resolution of the dispute.
“The people of Kashmir have been promised by the international community and united nations security council for granting of their birth right of self determination against Indian subjugation and we will continue to wage the struggle till the realization of our this right”, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed told a big gathering of journalists after administering oath to the newly elected office bearers of Kashmir Journalists Forum (KJF) here at Kashmir House.
The AJK Minister for Finance and Development Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Minister for Food Javed Iqbal Batalwi, President National Press Club Farooq Faisal, Former President NPC Mushtaq Minhas, President Rawalpindi Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) Waqar Sati, President KJF Abid Khurshid, Secretary of the union Zahid Abbasi and a large number of journalists from Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and journalists from twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad attended the ceremony.
The AJK Premier lauded the role of journalists for highlighting the Kashmir case and the plight of people of Indian occupied Kashmir who are fighting for the inalienable birth right to self determination against occupation of their land by the Indian occupation forces.
Chaudhry Abdul Majeed said that Azad Kashmir is the base camp for the independence of occupied Kashmir from Indian subjugation.
He called upon the international community to pressure India to comply with UN resolution on Kashmir and grant right of self-determination to the people for world peace and prosperity in the region.
The AJK Premier said that his government is committed to development of Azad territory for the welfare of the people in the area.
He vowed to eliminate corruption in Azad Kashmir and launch massive development projects for the socio-economic development of the area.
He said that he plans to establish a university in Kharri Sharif of AJK while in six-month of his rule a number of mega projects including construction of the biggest AJK’s bridge on the river, work on establishment of two medical universities have already been launched.
He added that people of Kashmir wanted prosperity and solidarity of Pakistan and they would play their role in this regard.
He also assured the members of Kashmir Journalists Forum (KJF) that their grant of Rs.2 million would be released in a couple of day.
He assured them that steps would also be taken for their welfare including the allocation of houses during the construction of Kashmiri refugees specific colonies in different cities of the country. 
Abid Khurshid thanked the Prime Minister for attending the ceremony and taking care of Kashmiri journalists community in Azad Kashmir and Rawalpindi and Islamabad.
