ISLAMABAD - European Union on Thursday lifted the temporary cargo ban imposed on PIA cargo shipments to Europe.
According to a spokesman of Pakistan International Airline Corporation (PIA), the decision has been taken after satisfactory examination and approval by the EU inspection team. The airline has now resumed its cargo shipments to EU.
Earlier, the British government had imposed the ban on the PIA cargo service over improper security arrangements.
The ban was imposed without any prior notice. No other country is facing such ban.
The UK authorities had written a letter to PIA to stop the cargo service due to the lack of security, while the cargo for US was automatically disturbed after this ban.
