ISLAMABAD - Quaid-i-Azam University Alumni Association (QAUAA) has greeted Prof Dr Waseem Ahmed and Prof Dr Bushra Mirza for being nominated for civil awards for meritorious contribution in the field of science.
The President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan has conferred Hilal-I-Imtiaz on Prof Dr Waseem Ahmed and Tamgha-i-Imtiaz on Professor Dr Bushra Mirza, department of biochemistry, QAU, in recognition of their contribution in the field of science. Hilal-i-Imtiaz is the second highest civilian award and honour by the government of Pakistan. The investiture ceremony of these awards will take place on Pakistan Day, 23rd March, 2017.
Terming announcement of these two awards on eve of golden jubilee celebrations of QAU Islamabad a great recognition of dedicated contribution of QAU faculty , the secretary general QAUAA Murtaza Noor said that the faculty and employees of Quaid-i-Azam are real backbone of this top higher education institution of Pakistan.
The old QAU students feel real proud of QAU faculty for their devoted valuable contribution and pay great homage to them. He demanded that on the occasion of 50th year celebrations of Quaid-i-Azam University Islamabad, a special package should be announced for the top university of Pakistan for meeting its growing needs. He also requested to President of Pakistan, being chancellor of the university, to announce special allowance for the QAU faculty and employees on this occasion.
He also announced that QAU Alumni Association would organize a special event to recognise the services of QAU employees during first week of September, 2016.
