RAWALPINDI – Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) has confiscated two trucks loaded with goods from different city markets in its campaign against encroachments while a number of shopkeepers were also fined.
A large number of tyres from tyre shops were also confiscated as the city district government had strictly warned the shopkeepers that tyres, new and old, should be properly packed and covered which will help reduce the risk of the dengue spreading.
The anti-encroachment operation with campaign to check tyre shops was launched on the directives of Administrator Saif Anwar Jappa. According to TMA, Rawal Town Spokesman, the grand clean-up operation against encroachments is underway in the city and under instructions of the R regularly being visited and staff concerned conducting raids at main markets of the town. The vendors who are found selling their products while displaying on footpaths and different city roads are imposed fines with warnings, he said.
The administrator has also issued special directives to the authorities concerned that the report of anti-encroachment operation should be submitted on daily basis with performance report of anti-encroachment inspectors. He said that strict action would be taken against those violating the orders.
