ISLAMABAD - The Ministry of Interior has decided not to suspend mobile phone services in any part of the country on the occasion of Eidul Fitr.
The ministry was of the view that suspension of cellphone service would add to the miseries of people. Besides, suspension of the mobile services was not a solution to the real problem.
It is learnt that the Sindh government had requested the federal government to suspend mobile phone service in parts of the province in view of the security threats, however, the federal government rejected the proposal.
The interior ministry replied to the Sindh government that additional security measures will be adopted instead of provisional suspension of cellphone service.
"No city will face mobile network suspension on occasion of Eid," said the ministry.
