SWABI The marriage celebrations were suddenly converted into grief when two people of a marriage party were killed and seven injured in a road accident due to over speed here on Sunday. It has been learnt that the marriage party left for Bashkhali, Mardan district, from the Shewa village for bringing the bridegroom. However, when they reached Ismaila region, a great rush was made by the youngsters while taking lead from each others cars in a heroic style. Those who were part of the party said that they appealed to them to stop it because the over speed might cause an accident but they were not ready to listen to anyone, continue to indulge in high speed and overtaking from one and another. They said that the youngsters were also challenging each other. They met with their fate when a speedy car hit a passer-by as the driver was overtaking another vehicle near the Athem police post on busy Swabi-Mardan road. The whole row of the vehicle turned disturbed and another car became uncontrolled and overturned. As a result, a member of the marriage party was killed on the spot and seven were injured. They were taken to the nearby hospital. The doctors said that among the injured two were in serious condition and they might be shifted to the Lady Reading Hospital, Peshawar. The killed were identified as Abid Khan of Shewa and the passer-by Alnoor Khan, hailing from Ismaila. The injured were Akhtar Ali, Sadiq Hussein, Tila Muhammad, Wisal Khan, Raz Muhammad, Wahid Hussein and Wafaq Ahmad. After the incident the marriage party was stopped but later on it was decided by the elders that a few vehicles should move to Bashkhali for brining the bridegroom. However, all the programmes of the marriage celebrations have been concealed immediately by Fazal Gul family. Altaf Khan, the bride was highly perturbed after the incident.
