Ulema laud security arrangements for Ramazan





RAWALPINDI – The arrangements made for peaceful passage of Ramazan-ul-Mubarik by district government have been termed exemplary and tremendous.
A meeting to review the arrangements held here in DCO office, which was attended among others by Ulema-e-Akram of various sects/members of District Peace Committee. District Coordination Officer (DCO) Rawalpindi, Saqib Zafar chaired the meeting.
Ulema-e-Akram said that their proposals presented in previous meetings with the district administration had been implemented and the arrangements made so far in this regard were satisfactory. They said that along with the deployment of police force, volunteers of mosque committees had been issued passes for the security duty.
This was also the proposal from the ulema in the previous meetings.
These arrangements helped the citizens to perform their prayers in a peaceful manner. The steps taken by the administration also helped to stop the terrorist activities and so far no untoward incident ri and comprised of Hafiz Iqbal Ahmed Rizvi, Maulana Muhammad Akram Hamdani, Allam Ashfaq Waheedi, Shaukat Abbas Jafferi, Maulana Muhammad Ameen Sialwi, Maulana Mehmud-ul-Hassan Balakoti, Syed Haibat Ullah Shah and Qari Muhammad Younas.
Allama Pir Syed Izhar Bukhari said that the services of Ulema-e-Akaram to maintain peaceful atmosphere in the district were always available to the district administration as usual. Ulema-e-Akaram wanted to promote further the mutual understanding, harmony and brotherhood among the different sects.
DCO Saqib Zafar on the occasion praised the spirit of ulema-e-akaram for their all out efforts to maintain law and order situation in the district.
He said that on every critical occasion the religious scholars always extended their earnest cooperation with the district administration to overcome the situation and avoid any sort of clash between the followers of different sects.
He also paid tribute to the ulema on their role to maintain peace during Ramazan, Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW) as well as Muharram-ul-Harram.
He expressed the hope that this sort of cooperation would be continued in future like past. On this occasion the delegation assured the DCO to extend their cooperation during this sacred month and afterward with the district administration.
